Taking over Leeds O2 Academy Leeds is South Yorkshire While She Sleeps , supported by Connecticut, USA metalcore band Currents , Sweden's Hardcore Punk/Metalcore band Thrown , and Resolve from France. Resolve Kicking off the evening is Resolve, who gets the crowd up and moving with the 2023 song 'Human'. Having seen Resolve earlier in the year performing at The Key Club, it's such a delight to see them with extra space to interact with the crowd and enjoy themselves while performing. Resolve also performed 'Death Awaits' and 'Older Days'. The growth in Resolve performances will make them an unstoppable force that will take over the music scene. It was my first time watching Currents perform and you can see why their fans adore them. They fill the stage amazingly and leave the crowd singing back every word of their set. Having played a hometown sold-out show a few nights before the Sheffield the Metalcore band coming out in a cover of Darkness leader singer Lawrence 'Loz' Taylor gets the crowd up and moving into a frenzy with crowd surfers flying over the barriers and moshpits half the size of the O2 Academy Leeds Opening up. Most of the set consisted of the recent album 'Self Hell'. Throughout their entire set While She Sleeps has control of the crowd and watching the show from above the academy floor you can see the love that everybody in the room has. Joining While She Sleeps on stage for 'Down' is the lead singer Brian from Currents, and for 'Silence Speaks' is Anthony from Resolve. During 'To The Flowers, ' flowers were thrown into the crowd, giving a beautiful touch to the evening. The evening brought together unity and passion from both the crowd and While She Sleeps, giving them an escape from the world outside, freedom, and a special moment to relax and be around new and old friends. Italian Gothic Metal band Lacuna Coil takes over the Manchester Academy tonight for their In The Mean Time 2024 Tour. Support comes from Finnish Metal artist Blind Channel. Blind Channel Eurovision Finnish finalists Blind Channel took to the stage first, and were met with their exciting fan base in the crowd. Having just announced days prior that at the end of this touring cycle, they would be taking a hiatus from creating music this was the last chance for a lot of fans to see the Blind Channel live. Coming out to 'Deadzone' Blind Channel gets the crowd moving and bopping along. Throughout the set, we are treated to a range of high kicks full of fast vocals and amazing rhythm. Towards the back end of Blind Channel set, we are treated to their version of 'Everybody (Backstreet's Back)' which gets the crowd up and moving with everyone putting their middle fingers up for their Eurovision hit 'Dark Side'. Overall Blind Channel shows the charm within their set making it an incredible show! The rest of Lacuna Coil flooded the stage to kick this evening off in Manchester with 2016 'Blood, Tears, Dust' with beautiful harmonic heavy vocals from both Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro. The duo flows and shows the incredible talent they both have along with the rest of the band. Fans screamed back every lyric to the songs and the night proceeded. Newly released singles 'Oxygen', 'In The Meantime' and 'Hosting the Shadows' were performed to the enjoyment of fans moshing and singing along to the new songs. Fan Favorite of 'Heaven's A Lie XX' was performed having re-recorded some songs for the anniversary release of Comalies XX. These classics went down as a pure treat showing the incredible growth of the band and the changes they have made. The show was the Gothic dream of being a pure perfect show from the talent of stage presents, tiny details throughout the show, Vocals, and the intense love that the fans have for Lacuna Coil.
